Newborn and baby safety | Phoenix baby photographer

Newborn safety for photography has become a big hot topic lately. If you hire a professional photographer don’t try and recreate the same poses yourself. Hiring a professional such as myself has years of experience putting the your baby in these hard poses. If your a newbie photographer be cautious and don’t attempt things that will jeopardize a baby well fair.

A lot of the shots I do are composites. A composite is when you take 2 or more images and put them together. I usually take a few and erase the hands out and make layers of the other images and put them together as one image.

Hiring a professional

The fee you pay a professional photographer goes into many things over 50+ hours a session. Take the money you pay and divide that into thes

1. 2-3 hours or 1 hour sessions: time for your photos to be taken.

2. 30+ hours of editing

3. 5+ hours of emails back and forth setting up your session,

proofing, ordering prints, booking, preparation a session.

4. 30+ minutes time packaging your CD’s, burning disks, labels, stamps, .

5. 1-2 hours. Ordering your prints,

6. 1 -2+ hours uploading to blog, writing about your session, uploading onto facebook for your friends and family.

7. Insurance- insurance for your session to protect against any damage done in studio.

8. 30-60+ minutes picking out, tearing down, setting up backgrounds, props,

9. hours of constantly week by week teaching ourselves photography, new skills, practicing photography.

Newborns | Phoenix Newborn Photographer

This morning I woke up to an email from one of my clients telling me she is at the hospital in labor. I LOVE my job!!! How many jobs do people get to work with new babies that are only a week old or a few days? Not many I feel very blessed every single time another newborn baby comes into my studio. I try my best to treat all of them as if they were my own, gently and making sure they are safe. I have 3 newborns I am taking pictures of in these next 2 weeks. I can’t wait to have them come because each baby is a new challenge to me. If you are pregnant and thinking about getting photos done of your baby you should have your maternity portraits done as well usually around 34-37 weeks is ideal.
